Dear Students,

just a quick note, following up on the very interesting discussions we had in the Exercise session yesterday: It turns out that our solution for the problem had a small error (interestingly, this problem has been around for a few years... looks like nobody spotted the error in earlier years).

Concretely, for Problem 3.(b), using the suggested Chebyshev route, I don't think one can prove the result with the stated constants. (I'm about to post an updated HW3 with constant that I can prove via Chebyshev.)

As a side note, we don't really need Chebyshev here. There are other ways to get good bounds on the probability in question.
