Dear students,

We finalized the grading of your exam, and you should receive shortly the feedback in the usual manner. We just uploaded your grades for the quizzes and exam to Moodle, so that you can cross-check the data we have on record. Take a look and let us know if you spot any errors in the recording of the quiz grades. We boosted everyone's overall quiz grade by a quarter point, so you will see an "adjusted" value in the overall quiz grade column. Attached are the statistics for the exam and the course as a whole.

Once you receive the exam feedback, please let us know if you think there was any error in the grading of the exam (by sending to pocs-staff a detailed explanation of why you think there was a mistake). Let's resolve all issues latest by January 12, 2025, because we will submit the final grades to IS Academia right after that.

Best wishes for a cheerful and restful holiday season!

It seems that there might be a disconnect between our spreadsheet and the grading… we will likely need to update the Moodle grades. Sorry about this, we might have rushed a bit too much to get the results out. We’ll keep you posted. (I’m on my phone, in a rudimentary snowed-in hut in the mountains, no laptop… so this might take a bit of time)

Dear students,

After a short break, we came back and reviewed the grading of the exam with fresh eyes. We wrote up a detailed answer sheet to help you learn as much as possible from this exam, as well as to thoroughly understand how we graded it. You will notice that we made some minor clarifications in the text of the questions (wherever such changes could have had an impact on the grading, we made corresponding increases to the scores).

Attached are the new grade distributions. In order to calculate the exam grades out of 6, we chose 48% as the threshold for a 4 and 74% as the threshold for a 6. We then used linear interpolation to compute the exam grades, which you will find in Moodle.

Best wishes for a Happy New Year,
POCS Staff

P.S. Sorry about the earlier problem with the grades on Moodle... due to a mistake in the mapping from columns in the uploaded CSV to the Moodle grade-sheet columns, we ended up putting the overall quiz grade in the exam column as well. That is fixed now. Let us know asap if you spot any errors.
