Dear Students,
a couple of notes for FDS this week:
- Don't forget to upload your answers to Homework 7 by tomorrow morning, 10am, on Moodle, as usual.
- Tomorrow, in lecture, we will first finish Data Compression (Section 10.1).
- We will also connect Data Compression to Distribution Estimation (Example 10.1).
- Then, we will continue to Chapter 11, focusing on bounding the generalization error of learning algorithms.
- In the last portion of tomorrow's lecture, we will do some kind of a summary of the class, going once more over the main concepts that have kept us busy this semester.
- On Wednesday (Dec 17), we will have an exercise session. You will work on Problem Set 8 (to be posted later this evening). Problem Set 8 will not have any deliverables to upload to Moodle (or would you like to submit something? If so, please let me know and we can change this).
