Hello, I would like to ask some hints for the following question. I know that |X| < 2 in the classical case but I can't figure out a way to use the probabilities that I found in exercise 1 a.

Hi
When the prob p(a,b|alpha,beta) satisfy the locality assumption, ie is equal to a product p(a|alpa)p(b|beta)
Then |X|<=2.
I did the proof on the blackboard and you also find it (in even more generality) in the class notes.
So the detail of the formula dont matter as long as this locality assumption is satisfied.
