Dear Students,
as you know, in ten days, we will have our Midterm Exam.
Here is all you need to know:
1) Coverage: The midterm will cover all lecture material (anything covered in lecture) until Thursday, October 17 (just before fall break),
all homework materials up to and including Homework 4, and lecture notes contents up to and including Chapter 6.
2) Exam Setting: The exam will be 90 minutes, on Thursday, November 14, 17:15-18:45, in Room INF 1 (usual lecture room).
3) Exam Rules: The exam is open book. You may bring all materials. Unfortunately, since we cannot allow you to
communicate, we must forbid all types of electronic devices, including smart watches. This also means that you
need to print (or handwrite) anything you want to take to the exam.
4) In preparation, you will find plenty of old exams posted on our Moodle page.
(Note that some of the problems concern chapters of the lecture material that are NOT part of our current midterm.
These problems will be useful when you prepare for the final exam. Do not hesitate to ask us about specific questions if you don't manage to classify.)
Best regards,
the Foundations of Data Science team.
