This course provides exposure to research in biophysics and physical biology, with emphasis on the nature of scientific breakthroughs, and using critical reading of scientific literature. In three modules, we will explore discoveries related to three topics: protein structure, single molecule force spectroscopy, and complex systems. Each week, we will either have an introduction to the topic, or discuss the research of one recipient of the Max Delbruck Prize in Biological Physics who has made an important contribution to the topic.
