This course aims to provide the basics necessary to understand robotics and to do creative work in this field. Emphasis will be on industrial robotics, high precision, and micro-robotics. Medical robotics is introduced as an example of promising new application fields. It is organized into the following learning slots :
- Applications,
- Serial and Parallel robotics
- Forward and Inverse kinematics.
- Forward and Inverse differential kinematics.
- Sensors and actuators.
- Control.
The course enables students to identify situations where robots can bring in their full advantages, define specifications, and make creative proposals for robotized installations embedded in complex systems. They should learn basic notions of the design of industrial or manipulation robots. They should know how to establish mathematical models and how to design robot controllers.
