This class provides an introduction to and the fundamentals of Telecommunication Systems. It explains the mathematical and signal processing foundations required to encode data and information, create signals to be transmitted along wires or with radio waves, receive these signals and recover the data. The class mixes explanations of the mathematical foundations with hands on technologies and standards. It provides a good preparation not only for those that are interested in further developing next generation telecom systems, but also for those that directly or indirectly use them.
